‘Elvis' Christmas Album’ by Elvis Presley - Wed, Dec. 14, 9pm

Who knew Elvis’ Christmas Album was so controversial when it was released in 1957? I mean, they’re Christmas songs! But apparently there was still moral outrage over his general rock ’n’ roll style that some considered him covering Christmas classics as nothing short of sacrilege.  “White Christmas” was banned on many stations and a disc jockey even lost his job for playing it against the orders of the station manager.

Well, at least now, almost 60 years later, everyone has come to their senses and we can listen to this classic Christmas album without fear.  So let’s do just that during “Album Night” on Wednesday, December 14th at 9pm EST. It’s only taken 42 albums in the series to finally get to one by the King…!

Here is the track listing in case you are unsure if you have the correct album on hand.

1. Santa Claus Is Back In Town
2. White Christmas
3. Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane)
4. I'll Be Home for Christmas

7. O Little Town of Bethlehem

9. (There'll Be) Peace In the Valley (For Me)
