The Blink of an Eye, released in late 2016, is the second album by local singer / songwriter Leo Harmonay (that’s local if you live in Westchester NY or surrounding areas).  As a follow up to his 2015 debut, Somewhere Over the Hudson, this sophomoric effort builds on the foundations set forth by its predecessor.   Again Leo’s vocals and guitar are the backbone of the entire work of art.  His delivery, anchored in  sincerity and authenticity, give his original tunes purpose and meaning.  But Leo is not tasked with presenting these songs alone. He is once again joined by producer, engineer and fellow performer Fred Gillen Jr.  The progression of the relationship between the two is evident on their second album together.  The songs on The Blink of an Eye are carefully produced, with each unique arrangement enhancing the vision of the songwriter.  The tracks come together both individually and as a coherent whole; the true sign of an album worthy of inclusion in the “Album Night” series!

I am personally thankful to have had the opportunity to make some contributions to Harmonay and Gillen Jr.’s creation by performing a variety of instruments on various tunes.  And add in another sprinkling of guitar talents Tommy Lloyd, Phil Dollard, and Gerry Cunningham and you are presented with a truly original and inspired work of art.
